Kashmir journalists’ body demands action against doctor for assaulting GK correspondent in Tral

Kashmir Journalists Association (KJA) on Monday condemned an assault on a journalist working with Greater Kashmir newspaper by a doctor in Tral area of Pulwama district.

A spokesman of the Kashmir Journalist Association (KJA) said Dr Shan-i-Alam Shah, a gynaecologist posted in Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tral manhandled the journalist Irfan Amin Malik at his clinic on Sunday when he was working on a story about absence of doctors in the hospital.

   

KJA has demanded strict action against the doctor, he said.

The journalists’ body has urged Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo to take action against the doctor for manhandling the journalist and remaining absent from duty, the spokesperson added.
