Kupwara: 17 govt officials found absent without authorisation, suspended

As many as 17 employees of various government departments in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district were suspended on Wednesday for allegedly being absent from duty.

The suspensions were ordered by District Development Commissioner Khalid Jehangir after he conducted surprise inspections at various offices located in Handwara including PHE division Handwara, Social welfare office and PHC chowgul of the district, an official said.

   

A copy of suspension orders that lies with Greater Kashmir read: “17 officials of various departments were found absent without authorisation and placed under suspension with immediate effect.”

Chief medical officer Kupwara and executive Engineer PHE division Handwara shall chargesheet the suspended officials and furnish their reports to this office within 15 days, it added.
