Medical student dies at Sidhra

Jammu, Nov 4: A student pursuing his bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (MBBS) was found dead in an apartment in Sidhra on Jammu-Srinagar bypass road falling in jurisdiction of police station Nagrota.

The deceased has been identified as Yameen, a resident of Peerbagh, Srinagar.

   

He was a second year MBBS student at ASCOM Hospital, Batra.

In-charge Police Post, Sidhra, Sub-Inspector Shakil Ahmed told Greater Kashmir that the student was brought dead at Government Medical College and Hospital, Bakshi Nagar.

The deceased medical student was shifted to the hospital from Asrarabad flats at Sidhra, he said.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased MBBS student arrived in

Jammu and took the body of their son back to Srinagar for performing his last rites after seeking permission from the district administration, the police officer said.

The police while taking cognizance of the incident confirmed that facts are being ascertained and further investigations have been initiated.
