Micro-containment zone de-notified in Jammu

Jammu: The district administration in Jammu Thursday de-notified a micro-containment zone at Saraswati Vihar in Bohri.

“The micro-containment zone has been de-notified after around six COVID-19 positive cases recovered from the deadly virus,” the official said.

He said that even after the de-notification of a micro-containment zone, the Jammu district still had around 10 micro-containment zones.

Today, Jammu recorded 19 COVID-19 cases in the district.

Meanwhile, authorities are likely to declare another micro-containment zone in the Jammu district by Friday with the detection of five cases from a residential colony in Talab Tillo.

Officials in the Department of Health said, “Amar Colony in Talab Tillo may be declared a micro-containment zone after five COVID-19 positive cases were detected from the colony.”

They said that the area would be put under strict COVID-19 restrictions and that the people in the locality would be tested for COVID-19.

“These cases had attended marriage ceremonies and all of them have symptoms,” the officials said. “They were detected of having the delta variant of COVID-19.”

“An official order to declare Amar Colony a micro-containment will be issued on Friday,” an official in the civil administration said.
