Militant outfits, separatists pay tributes to Manan Wani, his aide

Militant outfits and separatist organisations have paid rich tributes to the PhD scholar turned militant Manan Wani and his aide, who were killed in a gunfight with the government forces at Shatgund village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.

LET, HUM, JUM , JEM, AL-BADR

   

Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Mehmood Shah in a statement to a local news agency CNS  said, “Wani’s sacrifice can never be forgotten. He was a PhD scholar. His sacrifice proves that the highly educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir have decided to strive for their birth right. Wani used his gun as well as his pen for the cause. Our youth are our heroes. Their blood will never go waste.”

“When young people of any nation decide to sacrifice their lives, oppressors have to accept defeat. Today Kashmir movement is at its peak. Our mothers, sisters, daughters, children, old and young, students, doctors, lawyers, scholars and businessmen, all are on one page and are committed to take the ongoing movement to its logical end.”

Praising the stone-pelters, Shah said, “Stone pelters are our ‘Ababeel’. Abraha’s troops were destroyed when Ababeel threw pebbles on them. We are proud of our brave sons and daughters who are fighting the forces with stones. We thank the people for their support.”  

Operational spokesperson of the militant outfit Harkatul Mujhadeen, while quoting the outfit chief Maulana Sajad Shahid  in a statement to CNS said, “Manan Wani will live forever in the hearts of people of Kashmir. Manan was an asset and his separation is really painful.”

Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen chief, general Abdullah in an e-mailed statement to another local news agency KNS said,  “Manan Wani sacrificed everything for the sake of Allah. Wani despite being highly qualified joined the militant ranks at a time when every facility was available to him. But he chose this way for the sake of Allah,” he said. 

Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) spokesperson in a statement issued to a local news agency GNS said Manan Wani sacrificed his life for the Kashmir cause and Islam.

He said Manan Wani will emerge as the role model for Kashmiri youth and many more will join the militant ranks.

Spokesman of Al -Badr Mujahideen while quoting the Al-Badr chief Bakhat Zameen Khan in an e-mailed statement issued to a local news agency said, “Manan Wani has proved that he sacrificed everything for the sake of Allah. Manan Wani despite being highly qualified joined the militant ranks.”

JAMAAT-E-ISLAMI  

Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir expressed deep shock and sorrow over Manan Wani’s  killing and  his aide.

 “Jama’at expresses deep shock over the loss of a highly qualified young and budding intellectual of Kashmir Dr Abdul Manan Wani along with his associate. This bloodshed is the result of non-resolution of the long pending Kashmir issue, badly affecting millions of people living in Jammu and Kashmir region,” Jama’at chief spokesman advocate Zahid Ali said in a statement.   

The spokesman also expressed deep concern over the mysterious killing of a pro-freedom young activist Tariq Ahmad Ganaie of Meemander, Shopian, by some unknown gunmen. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

ASHRAF SEHRAI 

Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai while paying tributes to Dr Manan Wani and his associate said,  “A budding scholar of department of Applied Geology at “AMU”, intellectual and writer showing his mettle both in academic and military skills has given his previous life for a noble cause.:

He said, “Our struggle has witnessed great scholars and intellectuals laying their lives for suppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir.  Dr Wani and his associate have  once again proved that youth of Kashmir are ready to sacrifice everything for just cause.” 

TEHREEK-E-MUZAHAMAT 

Tehreek-e-Muzahamat (TeM) chairman Bilal ahmad Sidiqui, while paying rich tributes to Manan Wani and his associate  said, ” To be loyal and honest towards the cause for which our brave hearts are sacrificing their each and everything is our collective responsibility.” 

“Despite having a bright and shining career in front of him Dr Abdul Manan Wani opted to join the tough terrain of  Kashmir movement and with his impressive talent and abilities rose to become the heart throb of this subjugated nation within short span of time. It is an example in itself,” Sidiqui said.

He offered his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to departed souls.

JAMMU KASHMIR SALVATION MOVEMENT

Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), while paying tributes to slain Dr Manan and his aide said, “Youth are sacrificing their lives for the great and sacred mission and it’s the collective responsibility of the people and the leadership  to safeguard their sacrifices and to take the ongoing movement to its logical end.”  The JKSM has also condemned the killing Hurriyat activist Tariq Ahmed Ganie in south Kashmir’s  Shopian district.

JKLF ( R) 

Paying rich tributes to the slain Dr Manan Wani and his aide the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R) leaders, Barrister, Abdul Majid Trambu, advocate Ayyoub Rathor and Wajahat Bashir Qureshi, in a joint statement, said, “We pray for the heavenly abode of  Dr Wani and his aide and forbearance to the bereaved families.”
