Non-local labourer dies of asphyxiation in Shopian

Shopian, Nov 2: A non-native labourer died due to asphyxiation while two others fell unconscious in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.

A Police official identified the deceased as Ansar Ahmad of Uttar Pradesh (UP).

   

The official said that two other labourers identified as Azim Jan of UP and Ubaid Bashir Parra of HomehanaNagabal, Shopianwere being treated at SMSHS, Srinagar.

According to the official, the trio was shifted to Sub District Hospital Zainpora in an unconscious state where doctors declared Ahmad brought dead.

He said that the labourers were putting up in rented accommodation in the Zainapora area and had kept some heating devices on throughout the night.

The official said that the asphyxiation seems to be the cause of the death of the non-local labourer.
