A daylong literary event “Youm-e-Abdul Ahad Azad” was held on Thursday at Samanbal Badran Magam.
The programme was organized to remember the famous poet, writer and historian Abdul Ahad Azad on his death anniversary.
The event was organized by Gulshan Cultural Forum Kashmir in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages and department of Information and Public Relations Srinagar.
The function was presided over by president of the forum, Syed Bashir Kousar and former director Markaz-i-Noor Kashmir University.
Prof Basher Basheer was the chief guest on the occasion. Broadcasters Shamshad Kralwari and Nisar Naseem read papers on the occasion.
The speakers on the occasion threw light on the life and works of Azad and remembered his contribution to art, literature and culture.
Among others who attended the event included Maqbool Shida, Khurshid Khamosh, Latief Niyazi, Abdul Ahad Shahbaz, Aziz, Hilal Kashmiri, Ab Aziz Betab, Master Ghulam Ahmad Khan and others.
