Rajouri operation: commandos pressed into service on day 2

The search operation in Rajouri’sLamberi forest area entered its second day on Tuesday, even as teams of special army commandos were pressed into service to expedite the searches, officials said on Tuesday.

According to an official source, the search operation which was put hold last night resumed this morning, with joint teams of the police and army intensifying the searches in the forest area while strengthening the cordon from all sides.

   

“Army also pressed into service its teams of special commandoes for the whole day,” the source said, adding that the searches were on when last reports came in.

Meanwhile, according to officials, local villagers informed government forces that they saw four to five persons in the local maize fields, following which searches were started in Namd, Kadali, Bhawani and Bareri villages of Nowshera on Tuesday.

“The search operation is on. We will share the details if any development takes place,” a senior police officer told Greater Kashmir.
