Searches along IB after ‘suspicious movement’

Border Security Force, army and police searched border areas in Kathua and Samba districts in Jammu after a BSF trooper notices movement of some suspicious persons in Bobiya area of Hiranagar on Monday, said Ram Avtar, inspector general of BSF Jammu Frontier.

Avtar said all border outposts, army units and police were alerted about the suspicious movement and a joint search was launched in many areas that continued till late into the day.

   

“Forces are still deployed in the area but so far no clue has been found. I can’t speculate on the number of suspected persons,” he said.

The IG said the forces also inspected the entire border fence but found it has not been breached at any place.

Militants have in the past breached the border and carried out deadly attacks on forces’ installations in Jammu.
