Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Talat Parvez Rohella, inspected the proposed site for State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) at Humhama.
Present on the occasion were director Disaster Management Aamir Ali, Commandant SDRF 1st Bn, Bashir Ahmed Sofi, Deputy General Manager JKPCC, Bashir Ahmed War, representatives from R&B besides DM Professional.
The secretary gave instructions on the spot to activate the interim EOC so that it acts as a Centre for collection of data from districts related to Disaster Mitigation and its dissemination by way of advance warning.
He asked JKPCC to prepare a robust plan for the EOC and instructed that the design should incorporate all International Standards with an Earthquake resistant structure.
He asked SDRF personnel to ensure daily morning drills, so that the personnel remain in excellent health and physical shape to actively participate in rescue operations.
