Sonamarg, Feb 19: Sonamarg health resort in Ganderbal district witnessed a massive snowstorm while the district received heavy snowfall on Monday.
The tourist destination was hit by a massive snowstorm on Monday and the resort also witnessed over 4 feet of snow.
The heavy snow accumulation disrupted the traffic movement on Gagengar-Sonamarg Road and no vehicles were allowed to move beyond Gagengar village.
The administration had pressed machines for snow clearance.
However, continuous snowfall disrupted the snow clearance work.
Other higher reaches of Ganderbal district including Gagengar, Rezan, and Naranag also received light to moderate snowfall while rains lashed the plains.
