Technical Snag at Ramban Receiving Station

Scores of villages, which get their electricity from a receiving station in Ramabn, plunged into darkness due to a technical snag, reportedly.

Inhabitants of village Parnite, Immamabad, Seri, Batibass, Thalibass, Digdool, Gandhri, Battery, Chasma, Maroog and Mian Suli Gam complained about abrupt snapping of electric supply. They alleged, “The hollow claims of the district administration about being fully prepared for any eventuality during rainy season are falling flat one by one, as even light rainfall is becoming a cause of electricity and water supply being snapped.”

They complained that the electric supply was snapped at 3 pm on Saturday and the villages have remained without electricity in the scorching heat.

However, the engineers of the Power Development department claimed that the electric supply was restored on Sunday afternoon, after the fault in the oil circuit breaker of the feeder was repaired. They further informed that the fault had developed due to overloading, as the consumers have been allegedly resorting to consumption of electricity beyond their sanctioned load capacity.
