Tremors felt in J&K after 5.2-magnitude earthquake hits Pakistan

Srinagar, Dec 27: An earthquake of 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Gilgit area of Pakistan, the tremors of which were felt in parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening.

According to an official, the tremors were felt at around 7:01pm this evening.

   

The epicenter of the quake, as per US Geological Survey, was Gilgit, Pakistan. It said the earthquake struck at a depth of 47.5 kilometres.

There were no reports of any loss of life or property in the quake at the time this report was filled.
