Tuition centres close after government diktat

The coaching centres association of Kashmir (CCAK) on Wednesday accused the government of inaction against the unregistered coaching centres, stating that institutes registered with the government are discouraged for unknown reasons.

The CCAK in a statement said that closing down registered coaching institutes would discourage young minds.

The statement was issued a day after government issued orders for closure of tuition centers for 90 days.

“The association has always demanded that action should be taken against the violators and that un-registered coaching institutes be sealed. But only the registered institutes are harassed while as no action is taken against the violators,” president CCAK Junaid Yousuf said in the statement.

He said all the details required have been already submitted with the DSEK and any delay in reviewing the same thereof and subsequently the loss of students’ precious time would be the sole responsibility of the government.

The association has decided to suspend the class work as per government order till further directions.

Reacting to the government order that said late reporting of students to schools leads to law and order problems, he said coaching institutes adhering to the government norm of maintaining half-hour difference with respect to the school timings have been unnecessarily dragged into the blanket closure order.
