Over dozen vehicles collided in Chenani-Nashri tunnel on Jammu –Srinagar highway, following an accident.
Sources said that authorities stopped traffic on both sides for shifting damaged vehicle, which resulted in collusion among the vehicle stuck in the tunnel. However, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
“A truck rammed into the pathway after its driver fell asleep,” J P Sharma, in-charge safety control unit of tunnel told Greater Kashmir and added that traffic was stopped for evacuation.
“The rescues team rushed to evacuate the damaged vehicle, but in the meantime speeding cars which had already entered in the tunnel collided” he said.
