Yasin Malik addresses Muharram congregation

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik today termed “Kashmir struggle as struggle of oppressed and continuation of Karbala”.

Addressing Muharram congregation at Basant Bagh and Gaw Kadal here, Malik said Hazrat Imam-i-Hussain (RA) and his family strived for righteous cause and sacrificed their lives for it.

Malik asked people to boycott upcoming civic bodies’ polls in J&K. “The forced elections are meant to legalise oppression and hence deserve a total boycott,” Malik said.  “The forces are killing, maiming, incarcerating, humiliating and vandalizing Kashmiris. We are witnessing a Karbala of modern times and election drama is being played in Kashmir to hoodwink international opinion. We all should adhere to principle that no election till right to self-determination, and refrain from participating in any such process that is helping our oppressors,” Malik said.

He said while J&K was burning “ruling regimes was busy satisfying masters in Delhi by announcing municipal and panchayat elections”.
