Gunmen shot dead a 40-year-old man in Awantipora area of southKashmir’s Pulwama district late last night.
A police spokesman, in astatement, said Manzoor Ahmad Lone was forcibly taken by militants from hishome in Dogripora village of Awantipora and shot dead.
“Body will be handed over to the family members aftercompletion of medico-legal formalities,” he said.
The spokesman said that thepolice has registered a case in this regard. “Officers from the localpolice unit are at the spot and are investigating the circumstances which ledto this incident,” he said.
A block president of NationalConference was shot at by gunmen in Anantnag district of south Kashmiryesterday. He was injured in the attack.
