Won’t change stand on Kashmir issue, says Mirwaiz at Jamia congregation

A day after he arrived back home after facing NIA questioning in New Delhi, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said that the Kashmiri leadership won’t change their stand due to coercion.

“Our stand is based on truth. We won’t change it because ofthe use of force as it represents the aspirations of the people of Jammu andKashmir,” said the Mirwaiz while addressing the Friday congregation at JamiaMasjid.

   

He said that the leadership of India, Pakistan and Kashmirhave to resolve the issue.

“Elections will continue to be held and governments willcome and go but Kashmir issue will remain there till it is not resolved,” saidthe Mirwaiz.

He said that the armed forces and the people of Kashmir aregetting consumed in Kashmir conflict and that the government of India was nottaking any initiative to resolve this issue.

On Thursday afternoon, Mirwaiz arrived back in Srinagarafter spending three days at the headquarters of National Investigation Agency(NIA) in New Delhi.
