
Srinagar, March 21: The holy month of Ramadhan will begin in Saudi Arabia on Thursday as the crescent was not sighted in the kingdom on Tuesday, reports said.
The crescent moon, which would have heralded the beginning of Ramadhan, was not sighted on Tuesday evening, reported Al Arabiya.
Muslims fast from dawn to dusk during the month which is followed by Eid-ul-Fitr.
Fasting during Ramadhan is one of the five pillars of Islam and is mandatory for all healthy Muslims.
