Ensure smooth conduct of Kheer Bhawani mela across Kashmir: Sagar to admin

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference general secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar on Saturday urged the divisional administration to make adequate arrangements for the forthcoming Kheer Bhawani mela.

The Party general secretary in a statement said that thedivisional administration is duty bound to provide all facilities to thedevotes on the occasion. “The festival attracts devotees particularly KashmiriPandits from across the state and the country. The annual pilgrimage to this temple is a sort of homecoming for manyPandits. It is for the incumbent administration to ensure that pilgrims areprovided best of health, transport and other facilities in and around theshrine. The festival presents a perfect example of the Hindu-Muslim brotherhoodin Kashmir.  It is a perfect example ofreligious harmony that has been a specialty of our Kashmir culture,” he said.

   

Meanwhile, former MLA and district President Kulgam AbdulMajeed Bhat Larmi has asked the district administration to ensure properarrangements for Kheer Bhawani Mela at Manzgam and Devsar. He urged theauthorities to be proactive and make every possible effort for the smoothconduct of mela in the Khir Bawani Asthapan’s in Kulgam.

Party district president Kupwara Qaisar Jamsheed Lone alsourged the district administration to provide basic and effective amenitiesincluding transport facility to devotees visiting Kheer Bawani astapan atTicker Kupwara. NC’s district president Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar anddistrict president Anantnag Altaf Kaloo have also urged the respective districtadministration of Ganderal and Anantnag to provide all possible arrangementsfor the smooth conduct of Kheer Bawani mela in various asthapans in falling inAnantnag and Ganderbal.
