The members of Surankote Bar association Friday called for stern action against the people involved in threatening the staff of Greater Kashmir’s Jammu bureau over call.

During a press conference held here, the members of the Barassociation, including senior vice-president Majad Khan, Iftikhar Hussain Shah,Anazar Qurashi, Zafar Hussain Shah, Toseef Akram and Aflaad Manhas said,”Freedom of press is a very important and pre-requisite feature for adeveloping society, especially in India, where press is regarded as the fourthpillar of democracy.”

   

They said that the Jammu and Kashmir police should ensurethat those involved in making threatening calls to Greater Kashmir’s Jammubureau are put behind bars at an earliest.

The advocates appealed to all sections of society to “unite against divisive forces, who are trying to divide the society”.
