An 18-month-old baby drowned in River Jhelum in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday.
According to the Division Officer Ajas, Kaiser Bashir, an 18-month-old baby boy drowned in River Jhelum at Sadunara village of Hajin on Monday.
He said the initial reports suggested that he slipped into the river.
Bashir identified the baby as Faizan Ahmad Ganie, son of Ashiq Ahmad of Put Mohalla.
Block Medical Officer, Hajin, Aijaz Ahmad said that the baby was brought dead to the hospital while the medico-legal formalities were being conducted which indicated death due to drowning.
