Unidentified gunmen on Monday evening shot dead a youth in Nidoora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police officer said suspected militants fired upon Subzar Ahmad Naikoo son of Abdul Rashid Naikoo this evening at his native village injuring him grievously.
“He was rushed to a nearby hospital and later shifted to SMHS Srinagar,” he said.
However, he succumbed to his injuries.
“He was brought dead to the hospital,” medical superintendent SMHS, Dr Nazir Chaudhary, told the Greater Kashmir.
A doctor said he had received two bullets below abdominal region.
Naikoo was an employee with the Rural Development Department.
