‘Pak, India delegation visits will de-escalate tensions’

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday said the delegation-level visits scheduled between New Delhi and Islamabad will de-escalate tensions between the two neighbours.

New Delhi will discuss with Islamabad on March 14 themodalities of the operationalisation of the Kartarpur Corridor to facilitateeasy access by Indian Sikhs to Kartarpur Sahib gurdwara in Pakistan. Themeeting will take place at the Attari-Wagah border crossing.

   

Qureshi comments came ashe met Pakistani High Commissioner to India Sohail Mehmood.

“Pakistan desires de-escalation and an improvement inthe current situation. The delegation-level visits will play a key role inthis,” he was quoted as saying by Geo News.

In a seperate developmentQureshi told Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood — who is dueto return soon to New Delhi — that Pakistan wants to de-escalate tensions withits eastern neighbour, Radio Pakistan reported.

Meanwhile, Pakistan today said it will “soon”respond to a dossier handed over to it by India on “specific details”of involvement of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in the deadly Pulwama attack.

“It’s being evaluated and a response would be givensoon,” Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal told reportershere.
