The Government on Wednesday cancelled appointment of two junior scale officers appointed under Jammu and Kashmir administrative services for failing to join duties on time.
The appointment ofGurpreet Kour of Charana, Jammu Cantt and Sheikh Mudasir Ahmed Farooqi of AHOPaisan Chittergul, Shangus was cancelled by General Administration Departmentthrough an order.
The duo was selectedunder Reserved Backward Area (RBA) category among 273 other candidates.
An official said all theadministrative secretaries have been directed by the government to include’cancellation’ clause as a standard condition in all the appointment orders toavoid difficulties in computation of vacancies and to avoidable litigations.
“It has been observed that appointment orders, issued by the departmentsin respect of new recruitments, do not provide for automatic cancellation ofappointment of a recruit in the event he/she fails to join within thestipulated period of 21 days,” reads the GAD order.
Prior to bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu andKashmir into two Union Territory, Jammu and Kashmir administrative serviceswere called Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS).
