Hyderpora gunfight: House owner killed in militants’ fire, says IGP Kashmir

Srinagar Nov 15: The owner of the house where two militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Hyderpora area of uptown Srinagar has died with police claiming that he was injured in firing by the militants.

Quoting IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, a police spokesman said on Twitter that the deceased house owner, whose identity was not immediately known, had been working as a militant associate.

   

“SrinagarEncounterUpdate: The house owner who was injured in terrorist fire, succumbed to his injuries. #Terrorists have been hiding on top floor of his building. As per source and digital evidence, he has been working as #terror associate. Search is still going on,” the statement quoting IGP Kashmir read.

The gunfight broke out today evening after the police and security forces launched a joint search operation in Hyderpora following inputs about the presence of militants there.
