Technical Edu Deptt launches ‘1000 Leader Programme’

With an ambition to train potential trailblazers and changemakers to solve social-economic problems in Jammu and Kashmir, ‘1000 Leaders Programme’ was launched in the state with the upskilling and grooming of 30 persons in a five-day workshop held in Gulmarg. 

Aimed to determine ideas and goals that will progressJ&K towards a prosperous future, the ‘1000 Leaders Programme’ is organisedby state’s Technical Education Department. The programme is implemented by theinternationally acclaimed leadership training provider BRIDGE InstituteSingapore in collaboration with J&K Skill Development Mission.

   

“The vision for the 1,000 Leader Programme is for a safer,more prosperous and joyous future, and this requires unlocking the remarkablecapabilities and leadership in every part of society. The Bridge Institute isdeeply honoured to have been invited in to design and support this programme,”said director Bridge Institute, Simon (Mac) McKenzie, who conducted theworkshop.

Around 30 people, drawn from different walks of life, wereimparted training on self-realisation, potential identification and scientifictools to approach problem-solving processes.

McKenzie along with Abigail Croft, client directors ofthe  ‘Bridge Leadership Foundation’, impartedhands on training on approaches and methods to participants, who were invitedfrom diverse streams like academia, entrepreneurs, students, social activists,artists, doctors, sportspersons, journalists, lawyers etc. 

All the participants underwent a residential training anddemonstrations to inculcate among the participants a knack and skill to formbonds with others, think together and execute solutions to problemscollectively.

“This year-long program is aimed at building capacities ofpeople from divergent backgrounds at the community level. It’s need of the hourand will be held in other districts too,” said Mission Director JKSDM Dr PeerGN Suhail.

People who participated in the programme said the trainingwas helpful in determining their purpose and vision for the future.

“I found the training programme thought provoking andstimulating. It has added some positive momentum to what I am trying toaccomplish as a psychologist,” said a young participant Fatimah Ali.

Special Secretary, Technical Education Department GazanfarAli attended the valedictory session and distributed certificates among theparticipants.
