Low-speed mobile Internet service was restored in central Kashmir districts of Srinagar and Budgam on Tuesday evening, after remaining suspended for four days following the militant and civilian killings.
A police official said that low-speed mobile internet (2G) services have been restored in Srinagar and Budgam districts.
“The Internet services were restored in Srinagar following an improvement in the situation,” he said.
However, the high-speed mobile Internet facility continued to remain barred.
The service was suspended as a “precautionary measure” after a gunfight broke out on Saturday morning in Chattabal area of Srinagar in which three militants were killed.
A youth was also killed after a police vehicle ran over him during clashes in Noorbagh area of the city.
On Sunday, five militants and as many civilians were killed in a gunfight and ensuing clashes in Badigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A teen injured during the clashes succumbed at SMHS hospital today, taking the toll to 11.
