Sagar, Firdous denounce acts of violence against Kashmiris

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday denounced the acts of violence against Kashmiris across the country urging the people across the country to maintain communal harmony.

NC’s general secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar while addressing a meet of party’s provincial functionaries here said, “the ultimate weakness of violence is that it devours everything that comes in its way. It is the last refuge of the incompetent. The acts of violence are bound to add to the darkness of a night already devoid of stars. The attack on CRPF men the other day is heart wrenching but the mob frenzy and the sporadic incidents of intimidation against Kashmiri traders, students across the country is equally reprehensible an act.”

   

Sagar said by indulging into arson and letting our selves get swayed by the obnoxious propaganda, we are wittingly or unwittingly playing on the tunes of those forces as are inimical to the secular and tolerant visage of country. “I appreciate the efforts of people who came forward for the rescue of stranded Kashmiris across the country. The efforts of Sikh community in lending helping hand to Kashmiris are worth appreciation. Such acts add to the life of a working secular and liberal democracy.”

Violence against Kashmiris not acceptable: ShameemaFirdous

NC Women’s wing president and former MLA Habbakadal constituency expressed dismay over the incidents of intimidation against Kashmiris in many parts of the country especially in north India seeking stern action again those involved in the incidents.

Addressing a meet of Women’s Wing functionaries here she said, “the acts of intimidation against Kashmiris is of prime concern to us. The sporadic incidents of arson and intimidation against Kashmiris across some parts of the country are condemnable.”

Shameema while calling violence against Kashmiris as unfortunate said, “reports of harassment of Kashmiris across the country in the wake of attack in Pulwama has provided an opportunity to communal forces to polarize the country in few of the ensuring LS and state elections. Our children are being thrown out by their tenants for something which they are not responsible for. Acts like these will create a wedge between the communities. I deem some sections of media are equally responsible for fanning the passions by resorting to malicious propaganda against innocent Kashmiris,” she said.
