Two persons were injured after a leopard attacked them in Korakbal area of Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday.
An official said two persons namely Sajad Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Jabbar Lone and Haneefa Begum wife of Mohammad Rafiq, both residents of Korakbal, Kanzalwan, received minor injuries and were shifted to CHC Dawar for treatment.
SDM Gurez Mohammad Rafiq Lone said both the injured were out of danger. “We have also sanctioned Rs 20,000 to each for their treatment,” he said.
Earlier, on Saturday this paper reported that wild animals in district Kupwara have descended on villages in search of food following the heavy snowfall in the region.
