KashmirPress Club (KPC) on Friday strongly condemned the “assault and seizure ofcameras” of the photo journalists in south Kashmir’s Pulwama.
Demandingaction against the accused security forces personnel responsible for the act,KPC reiterated its concern about difficulties faced by journalists working inKashmir.
“Recallingthe sequence of events one among the photo journalists said that policemenabused them while they were performing their duties,” said the KPC, in astatement. “The officer hurled abused, thrashed and seized our cameras. An hourlater, our equipment was returned to us,” he was quoted as having said.
Notingthe concern, the KPC urged the Governor’s administration and in particular thehigher up in the police force to investigate the matter act against those foundresponsible for it.
