SICOP unit holders decry lack of marketing support

The SICOP Unit Holders Association Kashmir (SUHAK) has  expressed grave concern on growing idleness in manufacturing units for lack of support in marketing of their products from  the government.

A statement here said in an annual general body meeting (AGM) of SUHAK held under the chairmanship of its President Masood Ali Wani, the members criticized developmental programme of thousands of crores “claimed by the government in which enterprises do not get accommodated and are made to suffer for marketing of their products,” the statement said. “Had these claims of the government been true, the existing manufacturers would have been working in three shifts not to talk of remaining idle.”

They said that the government departments were openly flouting the standing government orders for placing their requirements of identified industrial goods with SICOP for their equitable distribution among the MSME units. The growing corruption and nepotism in government departments have hit hard the manufacturing sector, they said adding that instead of segregating the industrial products they combine these with civil construction works.
