Rs 73.8 crore disbursed in Srinagar under welfare schemes

Srinagar: In order to review the progress and implementation of various Government sponsored beneficiary schemes and extension of benefits under various welfare schemes, the District Development Commissioner(DDC), Srinagar, Muhammad Aijaz Asad Saturday chaired a meeting of Officers of all line Departments at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex, here.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC called upon the concerned officials to put dedicated efforts in ensuring 100 percent saturation of Social Security and Beneficiary-Oriented schemes .

   

The CMO, Srinagar was asked to speed up the process of issuance of cards to Senior Citizens, Disabled and Transgenders for 100 percent saturation.

The District Social Welfare Officer, Srinagar apprised the DDC that pension to the tune of Rs 65 crore is being provided to 54000 eligible beneficiaries of the District under different Social Welfare schemes during current fiscal.

Similarly, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Srinagar informed the meeting, that under various welfare schemes of Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board(BOCWB), an amount of Rs 4.58 crore have been disbursed among 5339 beneficiaries in the district during this fiscal under welfare schemes like Marriage Assistance, Educational Assistance, Death & Funeral Assistance, Disability and Chronic diseases etc. besides Rs 4.23 crore have also been distributed among 21913 persons as COVID-19 assistance.
