Two die after vehicle plunges into gorge in J&K’s Ramban

Srinagar, March 05: Two persons died after a passenger vehicle on way to Kashmir veered off the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and plunged into a deep gorge late last night, police said.

A vehicle bearing registration No JK 14 9874(Taxi Cab) fell into a deep gordge near Battery Chashma in Ramban district at 12:30 am.

   

SHO PS Ramban, Civil QRT and UT DRF reached at accident spot soon after receiving information about the accident.

Upon retrieval from the wreckage, the two occupants of the vehicle were immediately transported to DH Ramban where doctors declared the both individuals as dead upon arrival.

The bodies have been identified as Hakam Din son of Abdul Rehman (25) and Tariq Ahmed (25) — both residents of Village Dalwa in Sangaldan area of Gool.

A case FIR No 48/224 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Ramban.
