SKUAST-K holds interactive session to nurture ‘Next-Gen Leaders’

Srinagar, Apr 30:   In line with its mandate of shaping “Next-Gen Leaders” through educational reformation, SKUAST Kashmir organised an in-person interaction with Dr Sanjay Kumar Pradhan for the benefit of its student community. Dr Pradhan recently completed his Ph.D. from Western Sydney University, Australia, and the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, in a sandwich mode programme.

Notably, Dr Pradhan holds the distinction of being the first student from Western Sydney University Australia to win the prestigious Illumina-Ramaciotti Student Grant Award. During the interaction, he shared his valuable experiences, outlining a roadmap for pursuing higher degree research and highlighting various opportunities that students can avail of for pursuing educational degrees in sandwich mode.

   

In his opening remarks, Prof. Azmat Alam, OSD to Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir, shed light on the “Degree by design” and “Sandwich mode” aspects, wherein the university is striving to meet the global demand for dynamic leadership. He emphasized the importance of connecting with different institutes of national and international repute.

Prof. Shaheen Kauser Jan, Associate Director of Education at SKUAST Kashmir, stressed the need for an innovative approach to education and encouraged students to make the best of the available opportunity to pursue dual degrees.

The organizer of the talk, Dr. Uzma Arifie, Assistant Professor, expressed gratitude to the Honorable Vice-Chancellor for providing the opportunity to hold such an interaction. She also thanked Prof. D.M. Makhdoomi, Director of Education at SKUAST Kashmir, for his support, and Prof. M. Anwar Bhat, Associate Director of Education at the International Education Cell, and Prof. Najeebul Rehman Sofi, Associate Director of Research at MRCFC Khudwani, for their efforts in ensuring the successful conduct of the program.

The interactive session aimed to inspire and guide students toward exploring diverse educational opportunities, fostering a culture of innovation, and nurturing the next generation of leaders in their respective fields.
