Speaking at the 44th foundation of the party here, Chugh said that these families showing no mercy remained unashamed despite the considerable bloodshed in J&K during their tenure.

Chugh alleged the failure of these prominent families, stating that their politics no longer resonated with the people of J&K.

He said that the people of J&K had opted for the path of development, peace, and prosperity, disregarding the legacy of these families, which, he said, had only brought graves for the youth of J&K.

Pointing to Farooq Abdullah, Chugh drew an analogy between treating a disease and addressing issues, emphasising that the BJP’s actions in J&K had prevented further bloodshed that could have escalated if past practices had persisted.

Calling it a blatant fabrication, he condemned the Congress manifesto and predicted that the people would reject it and reaffirm their support for Narendra Modi-led government.

Chugh also praised the efforts of BJP workers, stating that they had worked tirelessly to ensure that the agenda of Pakistan and China did not succeed in J&K.

During the event, the BJP paid tributes to its workers and leaders from Kashmir who laid down their lives for the country’s unity and integrity.

Chugh acknowledged the sacrifices made by party workers over the past several decades, from T L Tiploo in the 1990s to Waseem Bari last year.

He also mentioned Syama Prasad Mookherjee’s sacrifice in J&K, stating that it was aimed at securing more rights for the people of the region and liberation from Article 370 and Article 35-A.

Chugh’s remarks underscored the BJP’s strong stance against the political establishment in J&K and set the stage for a contentious political battle in the region.
