For creating awareness among the people about Cardio Vascular Diseases (CVD) and precautionary measures to keep away the heart ailments, Head, Department of Cardiology (HoD), Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu, Dr Sushil Sharma along with a team of doctors, paramedics and volunteers today organised a free medical camp at old age home, Ambphalla.
During his interaction with the inmates, Dr. Sushil maintained that the elderly most frequently suffer from cardiovascular illness, circulatory diseases, diabetes, rheumatism, kidney problems, vision problems and depression.
Although some privileged individuals among the geriatric population enjoy excellent health outcomes, others from low socio-economic background and left unattended by family members experience “the worst imaginable conditions,” he added.
The inmates and management of the Home expressed their gratitude to Dr. Sharma and his team for sparing time for the elderly.
Dr. Sharma promised more care, support and concern to these veterans and said that he is always personally interested in extending co-operation in whatever field it is required.
“It is the best privilege of a generation to serve its elders who have sacrificed their life for the youth of today. The youth needs to be with them and avail the opportunity of learning from their hard earned experience,” he added.
