Absconder arrested after 11 years: EOW CB Jammu

Jammu, Dec 3: Special team of Economic Offences Wing -Crime Branch (EOW-CB) Jammu apprehended an accused, booked under P C Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, absconding for eleven years from Uttarakhand.

A spokesperson of EOW-CB said that the accused absconder Rahul Kumar Singh alias Rahul, son of Triguna Singh, resident of village Benaud of district Chapra, Bihar and at present Sailqui-Haripur in district Dehradun, Uttarakhand was arrested after having remained at large for 11 years in case FIR No 10/2013 U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B/ RPC r/w 5/2 PC Act SVT 2006 and Section 27 of Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 registered with Crime Branch Jammu. “After allegations were proved against the accused and other accused persons, a charge-sheet of the case was produced in the court of law on June 20, 2013 for judicial determination. However, the accused remained on a run to evade his arrest by changing his locations outside the UT of J&K,” the spokesperson said.

   

The court of law had issued an arrest warrant U/S 512 CrPC against the culprit to bring him to justice.

“After meticulous planning and well directed and coordinated efforts, the special team of EOW-Crime Branch Jammu chased and arrested the absconder from Dehradun and produced him before the court of law.  This is the 19th arrest of the absconding criminals wanted under section 512 CrPC in the last 5 months,” the spokesperson said.
