The Home Department has constituted a five-member committee to scrutinize the proposal for award of President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Gallantry and Police Medal for Meritorious Services and Gallantry to the police officers on January 26, 2021 and August 15, 2021.
As per the order, the committee would have Administrative Secretary, Home Department as Chairman, Director General of Police, J&K as member, all officers of the rank of DGP in the cadre (posted in J&K) as members, Head of the CID Wing, J&K as member and an officer of the Home Department not below the rank of Additional Secretary to the Government as member secretary.
The committee may co-opt any other officer as its member, as it may deem appropriate. The proposals for award of the medals would be submitted by the DGP, J&K to the Home Department in time for its placement before the committee.
