The seat of administration of Jammu and Kashmir government, civil secretariat, would reopen in this winter capital on Monday.
Governor Satya Pal Malik will inspect guard of honour before the re-opening of civil secretariat offices here.
All other move offices, including Raj Bhawan, Legislative Assembly and Council Secretariats and Police Headquarters will also resume functioning in Jammu after 10-days break due to the bi-annual ‘Darbar Move’.
The offices had closed in Srinagar, the summer capital, on October 26.
Officials reviewed security situation afresh across Jammu region in the aftermath of killing of a senior BJP leader and his brother in Kishtwar on Thursday night.
They said closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been made operational to maintain a close vigil.
‘Darbar Move’ was started by the then Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1872 to escape the extreme heat during summers in Jammu and biting cold of winters in Srinagar.
Advisor to Governor K Vijay Kumar visited Civil Secretariat today and inspected all the offices including high level officers and their establishment wings.
The Advisor was accompanied by the team of the officers including Principal Secretary, Planning and Development, Rohit Kansal, Director Estates, Tariq Hussain Ganai, Joint Director Information Jammu, Naresh Kumar and other senior officers of the various departments.
He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Estates Department for the functioning of the Civil Secretariat.
The Advisor also visited the government quarters allotted to the moving employees at Sarwal, Company Bagh and Gulami Bagh and took stock of facilities being arranged by the Estates Department for the employees.
