‘Gurmat Samagam’ in Jammu on Nov 19

Jammu, Nov 16: A grand ‘Gurmat Samagam’ would be organised on the occasion of 552nd ParkashParv of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism and the first of 10 Gurus of Sikhs, at Chand Nagar Gurdwara in Jammu on November 19.

A statement of District GurdwaraParbandhak Committee (DGPC) issued here said that addressing a news conference here, DGPC President Jagjit Singh said, “The authorities have not accorded permission to organise Nagar Kirtan, the religious procession, keeping in view Covid-19 pandemic.”

   

Singh said that Samagam would be organised at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Devji Chand Nagar Jammu from 10 am to 4 pm.

“Guru KaLangar will also be served,” he said.

“In SamagamMahantManjit Singh of ShiromaniDeraNangali Sahib Poonch, SantTejwant Singh of DeraSantPura Danna, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu, BhaiHarpreet Singh from Kathawachak Amritsar, BhaiMohinder Singh, RagiJatha, Delhi Wale, BhaiBikramjeet Singh, HazooriRagi, Sri Darbar Sahib, Sri Amritsar, BhaiHarbhinder Singh, incharge, Sikh Mission, J&K, BhaiHarpreet Singh Chohala, BhaiDavinder Singh Khalsa, BhaiBalbir Singh, BhaiSurinder Pal Singh of DGPC Jammu, BhaiRanjeet Singh UP of Digiana Ashram would recite the GurbaniKirtan and shed light on Sikh history on the occasion,” Singh said.

The DGPC statement said that Singh was accompanied by all the office bearers of DGPC Jammu at the news conference.
