‘Tawi Festival’ to showcase Jammu’s culture, heritage: Dr Jyotsna Singh

Jammu, Feb 27: 4-day ‘Tawi festival’ will showcase Jammu region’s art, culture and heritage in its full grandeur.

The festival will begin from March 1, 2024.

This was stated by Dr Jyotsana Singh, the Director of Amar Mahal Museum and Library (AMML), while speaking to the media persons here.

“My father Dr Karan Singh had dedicated Amar Mahal to a museum in 1975. It became a thriving place to promote art, culture and heritage of J&K. This time four-day ‘Tawi festival’ will strictly remain focussed on the promotion of Jammu’s rich, diverse art forms and cultural heritage where the youth will also get a platform to give a vent to their creativities besides sharing thoughts with experts,” she said.

“Besides the local artists, art connoisseurs and experts will also participate in the festival. First day will be devoted to rivers while on the second day, the deliberations will revolve around heritage exploring its varied dimensions,” Dr Jyotsana Singh said.
