Sopore, Nov 26: Sopore police today said that they have arrested two timber smugglers and seized illicit timber from their possession.
Police in a statement said that while acting upon a reliable information, a joint operation was carried out by Sopore police and Forest Department headed by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha Insp. Imtiyaz Wani under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Muhammad Ameen Bhat. They carried a raid at village Fidarpora Rafiabad and seized illegal timber about 69.94 square feet from the possession of Abdul Qayoom Mir and Abdul Ahad Hajam, residents of Fidarpora Rafiabad.
