Ahmad and Haris Charitable Trust Saturday organized a free medical camp at Aishmuqam town in this South Kashmir district.
The camp was held at the Primary Health Centre (PHC),Aishmuqam, where more than 300 patients were examined and provided with medicaltreatment by a team of doctors.
At the camp, mobile endoscopy and USGs were also conducted.
“We respectively conducted the USG of around 100 andendoscopy of 50 patients with a history of gastric and renal problems,” thedoctors who were part of the camp, said.
They said the gastric and renal patients were counselledabout the need for diagnosis at an early stage.
“The patients were advised to go for an early medicalcheck-up as soon as they get any of the symptoms of the disease,” they said.
A Delhi based paediatrician said that she conducted medicalcheck-up of fifty children with different ailments.
On the occasion, chairman of the trust, MY Khan said thecamp was aimed to reach to the poor people with various medical ailments.
“It is an ongoing process and we are committed to organisemore such camps in far-flung areas too,” said Khan who was formerly chairmanChenab Valley Development Corporation and J&K Bank.
Khan was accompanied by his wife Mehbooba Khan.
National Conference President and MP Dr Farooq Abdullah waspresent on the occasion. He hailed the efforts of the Trust and hoped suchcamps will be organised frequently.
Khan’s Trust has also set up a tailoring and stitchingcentre for girls at his native place, Seer Hamdan. He has been also working forpromoting sports talent at Seer.
