All Kashmiri Muslim Migrant Committee demands release of cash relief

Srinagar, Mar 2: Kashmiri Muslim and Sikh migrant families on Tuesday  allegedly stopping of their cash relief in an unauthorised manner.

All Kashmiri Muslim Migrant Committee (AKMMC), demanded the immediate resumption of cash relief, claiming it has been stopped without any government order.

AKMMC President Nazir Ahmed Lone said some former officers are trying to please the government and hide their misdeeds by stopping the relief without authorisation. He said despite the High Court’s intervention and status quo order, the Relief Commissioner is only making promises but delaying action.

Lone blamed some zonal officers for misguiding the Commissioner and delaying the genuine demands of the migrants. He appealed to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and ensure the immediate release of cash relief.

“The undue stoppage of relief has created problems for the needy migrants,” Lone added.
