Black bear captured in south Kashmir’s Anantnag

Srinagar, Nov 8: A black bear was captured alive by a Wildlife Department team in Akingam Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday morning.

Quoting a Wildlife Department official, news agency GNS reported that the team was sent to the area last evening following information about the sighting of a black bear along human habitation.

   

Searches to locate the bear were made and in the meantime a trap laid in the area, the official said adding the bear was finally captured this morning without causing any injury to anyone.

The beast has been been shifted to Daksum Wildlife Sanctuary, the official further said.
