Minor Assam girl forced to work as domestic help rescued in Anantnag

Anantnag, Nov 2: A minor girl from Assam who was brought to Kashmir on the pretext of a job by a private agency but later forced to work as domestic help was rescued by the District Child Protection Unit ( DCPU) from south Kashmir’s Anantnag.

The girl was produced before Child welfare Committee (CWC) Anantnag by Child line with the help of Police from Harnag area.

   

“The girl was brought to Kashmir by a private agency after being promised a job in an apple processing unit but later made to work as domestic help in North Kashmir” an official said.

He said that the girl somehow escaped, boarded a train and reached here.

“DCPU Anantnag immediately took her in their custody,” an official said.

Following this, an order was issued by the District Child Welfare Protection Officer, ICPS Anantnag, District Protection Unit, Peerzada Farhat for restoration of the minor girl.

Legal-cum-Probationary Officer, Anantnag Sana Majeed was deputed for handing over the minor girl to CWC Assam,” an official said.

He said that the victim accompanied by the concerned officer was flown to Assam and, on Tuesday, the girl was reunited with her family .
