Police on Sunday said it recovered 6.2 kg poppy straw from a drug peddler near Jawahar Tunnel in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A police spokesperson said a police party of police post Jawahar Tunnel, during naka checking arrested Surinder Kumar of Manwal Bimyal Pathankot district of Punjab and was found carrying poppy straw in his vehicle No JK05C-9469.
“An FIR No.116/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in police station Qazigund and investigation in the case is going on,” he said.
