Ganderbal educated youths decry disparity in government jobs

The educated unemployed youths in Ganderbal district are disappointed against the government for allegedly neglecting the district by giving least share of government jobs.

According to the locals particularly the educated unemployed youth, the Ganderbal district has always been neglected and given the least share in government jobs since its creation as new district of the state, however in last three years the situation has worsened.

   

Accusing the state government the educated youth alleged that Ganderbal has become a victim of worst kind of discrimination perpetuated by present regime.

“There has always been a discrimination by State Government when it comes to giving due share to the Ganderbal district during recruitment of various posts,” a youth Waseem Ahmed said.

They said that in the recently issued advertisement notice by the service selection recruitment board (SSRB) for recruitment of the general line as well as Science and Math teachers after a long period of time should prove an eye-opener for the government as again the district was given least share.

“To our dismay, in recent advertisement issued by the SSRB Ganderbal district has been given the least share of only 89 posts including OM, RBA, SC, ST and others,” they said adding “one fails to understand what criteria the state government has used to justify such brazen discrimination in allocation of posts.”

As per the advertisement issued, Ganderbal among a couple of districts are least beneficiaries. Ganderbal has 89 posts including General Teacher 53 posts followed by Science/Math 27 posts and Urdu Teacher 9 posts.

The educated unemployed youth from far off backward areas accused the authorities for neglecting them. They said a negligible share is given to them in various posts.

The unemployed youth here said that though there are several politicians claiming to be the representatives of people and concerned about the growing unemployment however they have maintained silence over the issue.

MLA Kangan Mian Altaf said that this is the height of injustice and discrimination with the Ganderbal and Kangan youth especially from far off backward areas, adding that there are hundreds of posts lying vacant in Ganderbal district however surprisingly the government is least concerned about filling them.

“I will raise the issue as why Ganderbal and Kangan are being neglected in recruitment for government jobs,” Mian Altaf told Greater Kashmir.
