The government has deputed four officials including two doctors to New Type Primary Health Centre at Ashtengoo village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district for the smooth functioning of the health centre.
The development came days after Greater Kashmir carried anews report in its April 20th edition titled “Shortage of doctors marsfunctioning of Bandipora health centre.”
Locals had told Greater Kashmir that the health centre,which caters to the people in about seven villages, is equipped with modernfacilities but the shortage of doctors was badly affecting its functioning.
According to locals, there are only two doctors posted inthe health center that too from ISM and NHM, besides a dental surgeon.
An official said that after the GK report, the directorhealth services Kashmir asked the CMO and the BMO Bandipora to depute doctorsto the health centre in order to streamline its functioning.
“The BMO Bandipora accordingly issued an order asking thedoctors, who were originally posted at NTPHC Ashtengoo but had got themselvesattached at DH Bandipora, to join their original place of posting,” he said.
“As per the directions from the higher authoritiesofficers/officials are hereby relieved and are directed to report to theiroriginal place of posting with immediate effect. Non-compliance of this orderwill be dealt with strictly and action under government CSR will be initiatedagainst them,” reads the order issued by the BMO Bandipora.
Those who have been asked to join back their original placeof posting include Dr. Ajaz ul Haq (Medical Officer), Dr. Ishrat (MedicalOfficer), Ghulam Rasool (Junior Pharmacist) and Fareeda Yousuf (JSN).
In charge Block Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr. Tariqconfirmed that the doctors and two staff members who were attached to DHBandipora have been relieved and have been asked to join their original placeof posting at NTPHC Ashtengoo.
